I am tired
Fatigue felt outside any effort can be a sign of a disrupted lifestyle. But it can also be a tell-tale sign of a disease. While medications can help you get by, improving your energy level usually involves challenging your habits.
What are the symptoms of fatigue?
- The symptoms of general fatigue (asthenia) are sometimes very discreet.
- Even if you have slept well, you feel tired when you wake up and you have trouble getting out of bed.
- An activity usually easy to accomplish suddenly turns into a chore.
What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?
Chronic fatigue syndrome is a condition whose causes remain mysterious. It is likely that this is not a single disease but a set of health problems that result in similar symptoms: significant and long-lasting fatigue, accompanied by joint and muscle pain. These painful symptoms differentiate it from other forms of chronic fatigue (defined as fatigue that lasts more than six months). Chronic fatigue syndrome affects mostly young women (under 40 years). It sometimes occurs after a viral illness (eg mononucleosis) or a psychological shock. There is no specific treatment for this syndrome.
